Who we are

Jurassic AI Speaking is run by Nathaniel Jay Adams (Jurassic English™), Hanoi. Contact for anything in this notice: info@jurassicenglish.com.

What we collect

When you order credits: your full name, the email address or Zalo number you give us, your order code, the pack you chose, the amount and the payment date.

If you tick the optional updates box, we also record that choice and when you made it, and may email you occasional news about Jurassic English. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us; it does not affect your order.

When you use credits: your access code and, for each mock, when it started, the report type, which question set you were given, whether it was scored or its credits were returned, and a record of the consent you gave: which consent wording you ticked, typed or speaking mode, the page language and the time. The text of your answers and your report are kept for 30 days, as described below.

When you take a mock: the answers you type or, if you choose speaking mode (beta), a recording of each answer you speak and the text and measures made from it. They are used to produce your report and so Jurassic English can review it (see the next sections). Recordings are never saved; the text of your answers is kept for 30 days, then deleted automatically.

If you rate a report: your stars, any tags you choose and your optional comment (up to 200 characters; email addresses and phone numbers are removed), with the report type and page language. It is linked to that mock, read only by us and never sent to an AI provider.

Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps short technical logs of each request (for example IP address, time and the page or address requested) to keep the service secure and working. Our own server logs record order and booking codes, payment amounts and internal reference numbers for troubleshooting; they never contain your answers, access code, name or contact details.

Where your answers go

Your answers (typed, or the text of your spoken answers) are sent to our AI provider, Google (Gemini API; Google may process and briefly cache it in any country where it has facilities), to produce your feedback. We keep the text of your answers and your report on our servers for 30 days, to deliver your report and so Jurassic English can review it; they are shared with no one else and are then deleted automatically. Recordings are never kept. Google does not use them to improve its products and keeps them only for a limited period to detect misuse.

We keep the text of your answers and your report on our servers for 30 days, to deliver your report and so Jurassic English can review it; they are shared with no one else and are then deleted automatically. Recordings are never kept. Separately, so that a refresh or a closed tab does not lose it, a copy of your report, including your answers (in speaking mode, the text of what you said and the follow-up questions), is kept in your browser on the device you used: at most 5 reports, and a copy older than 30 days is removed the next time you open the exam page. You can remove it at any time from the report or the exam start screen; on a shared computer, remove it when you finish. Save it as a PDF if you want to keep it anywhere else. Removing the copy in your browser does not delete the copy on our servers; to have that deleted sooner, email us (see “Your choices and rights”).

Speaking mode (beta)

Speaking mode (beta, optional): if you choose to speak your answers, a recording of each spoken answer goes from your browser to a processing service we run on Vercel in Singapore, which passes it to Microsoft Azure Speech (Singapore). It is used only to write down what you said and to measure pronunciation and fluency (for example speech rate, pauses and Azure's 0–100 pronunciation indicators), never to identify you. The recordings do not pass through our website. Jurassic English does not store or log them, and our processing service on Vercel handles each one in memory only and keeps no audio; Microsoft processes them and discards them under its own terms. The text of what you said and the measures are then sent to our scoring AI provider, like typed answers. In Part 3, the text of each answer is also sent to that provider to write one follow-up question about your own point; the question is read aloud by an AI voice made by the same processing service and Microsoft Azure Speech (Singapore); it is saved with the text of your answer (see above) and kept with your report in your browser. Measures from speech are practice estimates in beta, not exact measurements. You can type your answers instead at any time.

Speaking mode is optional and has its own consent box, separate from the consent to AI scoring. Your browser asks before the microphone is used; if you do not allow it, or prefer not to speak, you can type your answers instead.

Questions read aloud on the exam page, where available, use an AI-generated voice and are labelled "AI voice".

Where your data is stored

Order and credit records, mock records, consent records, ratings, and the text of your answers and your report are kept in a Supabase database located in Seoul, South Korea.

The website's pages are delivered through Vercel's global network, and scoring and account requests run on Vercel servers in Seoul, South Korea.

Speaking-mode recordings go through a processing service we run on Vercel in Singapore to Microsoft Azure Speech (Singapore). They are handled in memory only and are not stored by us.

Payments (credits, lessons and the Live Speaking Baseline): you pay by bank transfer to our MB Bank account. SePay, a Vietnamese payment service connected to that account, tells us when your transfer arrives; we keep the amount, the bank's transaction reference, SePay's transaction number and the order or booking code it matched, not your name, account number or transfer message. The payment QR code on the order page is made by VietQR (img.vietqr.io), which receives the order code, the amount and our account name.

Our emails (order confirmations, receipts with your access code, booking links and Baseline results) are sent through Resend, an email delivery service that keeps delivery records outside Vietnam under its own terms. Each new order or booking is also emailed to our own mailbox with your name and contact (and, for a child's Baseline, the child's name and age). When you finish a mock, a short notice (order code, report type and time only; never your answers or access code) is emailed to our own mailbox so we can review it. If you give a Zalo number, we send your receipt and access code from our own Zalo account (Zalo is run by VNG).

Error monitoring: when something fails, our servers send a technical error report to Sentry, an error-monitoring service that stores it outside Vietnam. It contains reference numbers (such as an order code or an internal mock number), error types and timings; never your answers, access code, name, email or phone number.

Our pages load one font from OnlineWebFonts.com, and order pages load the payment QR code from VietQR; your browser's IP address reaches these services when they do.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records: as long as we need them for payment, refund and tax records.

Access codes, credit balances, mock records, consent records and ratings: kept with your order record. Consent records cannot be changed after they are made.

Error reports: kept by Sentry for at most 90 days.

Your answers (typed, or the text of spoken answers), the questions, any speaking-mode measures and your report: kept on our servers for 30 days after your mock, to deliver your report (including resuming an unfinished speaking-mode mock) and so Jurassic English can review it, then deleted automatically. They are shared with no one else and are shown only on our passphrase-protected admin page (the copy in your browser is described above). Speaking-mode recordings are never kept by us: our processing service on Vercel in Singapore handles each one in memory and keeps no audio, and Microsoft processes and discards it under its own terms.

Live Speaking Baseline

If you book a Live Speaking Baseline (a live session on Google Meet with our assessor), we collect your full name, your email address, your email language, your confirmation that you are 18 or older, who the session is for (yourself, or your child's name and age with your consent as parent or guardian), whether you agreed to recording and when, your booking and session time, the Google Meet link, the four criterion bands and overall band your assessor records, which parallel test form was used, and short notes your assessor adds to your booking.

Why: to take your payment, schedule and run the session, send you your result and plan, and keep accounting records.

Learners under 18: a parent or legal guardian books the session with their own name and email and gives consent for the session and for us to use the child's name, age and results as described here. We collect the child's name and age, and everything is sent to the parent. At the start of the session the parent confirms consent on camera and the child is asked if they are happy to begin. Sessions with learners under 18 are never recorded.

Recording is optional and only with your consent: you choose when you book, and you are asked again on camera before anything is recorded. You can say no at either point; without a recording the session runs on your assessor's live notes. If you agree, only the assessed part is recorded, in Google Meet, and the recording is kept in the assessor's Google account.

Where it is stored: your booking record in the same database as orders (Supabase, Seoul); any recording in Google (Google Meet / Google Drive). Your photo ID is only shown on camera for the identity check; it is never copied or kept.

How long: your assessor deletes any recording within 30 days of your session. Your booking record and bands are kept for 24 months for accounting, then deleted.

Booking and payment run automatically through two services. Google: when you pick a time, the session is added to our Google Calendar with a Google Meet link, and Google sends you a calendar invitation. The calendar event holds only your booking code, your email address and the time; never a child's name or age. To offer free times we read only whether our own calendar is busy, never anything about you. Google stores this data outside Vietnam. SePay (a Vietnamese payment service connected to our MB Bank account) tells us when your transfer arrives; we keep the amount, the bank's transaction reference and the booking code it matched, not your name, account number or transfer message.

How long, for these: the calendar event stays in our calendar as the appointment record and is deleted with your booking record (24 months), or sooner if you ask. Google Meet does not record a session unless you agreed to recording and we start it. Payment notifications are kept with the booking record for accounting.

No audio from the session passes through this website, and nothing about your baseline is sent to an AI service.

To see, correct or delete your booking data, or to withdraw your recording consent, email info@jurassicenglish.com with your booking code (see “Your choices and rights” below).

1-to-1 lessons

If you buy 1-to-1 lessons, we keep your name, email address, email language, the learner's name and age if you booked for a child, your lesson times and their status, your payments, and a protected code for your private booking link (never the link itself), in our database in Seoul.

If you book one session on the 1-to-1 sessions page, we also keep the length and time you chose, the priority you picked, the goal you typed (up to 300 characters, optional), the page that sent you there, and a protected code for the booking's status page in your browser (never the code itself). The priority and goal are for the teacher's preparation: only Mr. Jay's team sees them, on the owner's admin page; they are never put in the calendar event or an email.

Why: to take your payment, let you book, move or cancel lessons, run them and keep accounting records.

Each lesson is an event in Mr. Jay's Google Calendar with a Google Meet link (Google stores this outside Vietnam); the event holds only the booking and lesson codes, your email address, the length and the time. Booking emails are sent through Resend and payments arrive through SePay (see “Where your data is stored”). Lessons are not recorded.

How long: as long as we need them for payment, refund and tax records, like order records.

To see, correct or delete your lesson data, email info@jurassicenglish.com with your order code.

What we never do

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share your contact details with anyone except as needed to take payment and provide the service.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by emailing info@jurassicenglish.com with your order code. We normally reply within 7 working days.

Withdrawing consent stops future scoring; it does not undo reports already produced.

Age

The AI practice mock is for users aged 18 and over. Do not use it if you are under 18; our teacher-led Young Learners programme is for younger students. The Live Speaking Baseline accepts learners under 18 only when a parent or legal guardian books it and gives consent (see “Live Speaking Baseline” above).

Writing Practice: Google sign-in and photos of handwriting

If you use photo upload in Writing Practice, you sign in with your Google account. We receive your Google e-mail address and Google account ID from Google; we keep them, a record of your sign-in for 12 hours, and the link between your Google account and your access codes. We never see your Google password.

Before your first photo you give your learner details: your name, IELTS module and, if you choose, a target level and a test month. They are kept with your essays to prepare your reports and plan your practice. You can delete them at any time on the practice page, together with your whole account and data.

Photos of your handwritten essay are sent from your phone to our servers and on to Anthropic (an AI provider in the United States) to be read into text. Jurassic English does not keep the photos: they exist only while the text is read. Anthropic may keep them for up to 30 days under its API terms (longer only if its safety systems flag them) and does not use them to train its models. Only the text is kept, with your essay.
